    ?Sino-Russian Comparative Education Research Center Successfully Hosts Russia-China: Education and Social Development Trilogy Book Launch and Series of Exciting Events

    Recently, during the 4th Knowledge Science and Cultural Festival Open Week at SMBU, the Sino-Russian Comparative Education Research Center of SMBU, in collaboration with the Department of Education at Moscow State University, successfully hosted the book launch of the Russia-China: Education and Social Development trilogy, along with a series of exciting activities.

    The book launch took place on the afternoon of October 24 in the main building of the university, conducted both online and offline. Guests at the event included Li Hezhang, President of SMBU, Ivanchenko, First Vice President, and Kalmykov, Assistant to the First Vice President; Борисенков В.П., Professor and Director of the Department of Education at Moscow State University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, and Project Leader of the trilogy; Mei Hancheng, Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, and Director of the Management Committee of Southeast University Suzhou Campus; and Гукаленко О.В., Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, as well as Гриншкун В.В., Academician of the Russian Academy of Education. Representatives from SMBU and scholars from the book project were also present. The event was hosted by Тореева Т.А., Head of the Department of Education at Moscow State University.

    In his speech, Li Hezhang emphasized that the Russia-China: Education and Social Development trilogy encapsulates the research findings of over a hundred scholars from both countries over the past two decades, deeply exploring education reforms, development trends, and social development in Russia and China. It is a model for Sino-Russian exchanges in humanities and social sciences and a true reflection of the wisdom and friendship between the two nations. Li further highlighted that SMBU, as the first university established through the personal efforts of the heads of state of China and Russia, is the most vibrant example of Sino-Russian educational cooperation. The university has grown from a seed of cooperation into a tree of integration, continuously bearing rich fruit. Looking ahead to 2026 and 2027, when Russia and China will jointly celebrate Education Year, Li expressed optimism that this trilogy would serve as an opportunity to collaborate with educational peers, utilizing the unique platform of SMBU to jointly promote higher-quality educational development between the two countries.

    Ivanchenko congratulated the event organizers and pointed out that, following extensive preparation, in 2025, SMBU successfully launched joint master’s programs in Educational Management and Basic Teacher Education, as well as a joint doctoral program in Professional Education and Methodology. He expressed hopes for further deepened cooperation between relevant departments at both universities, particularly in joint talent cultivation and collaborative research.

    Academician Борисенков В.П. reminisced about the creation of the book and quoted highly regarded remarks by an American educator praising the trilogy. Professor Mei Hancheng shared his experiences in contributing to the book and expressed his profound respect for the dedication of Sino-Russian education experts. Academician Гриншкун В.В., a renowned expert in educational informatization and digitalization in Russia, emphasized the importance of information literacy in the context of the growing influence of artificial intelligence. Academician Гукаленко О.В., quoting Soviet educator Sukhomlinsky’s famous words, “Give your heart to the children,” revealed the deep spiritual foundation underlying the trilogy’s creation.

    The launch event also included a grand book donation ceremony.

    On the morning of October 25, the Sino-Russian Comparative Education Research Center of SMBU and the Department of Education at Moscow State University held an Open Day event at the university’s main building, attracting many students, faculty members, and local citizens. Experts introduced the history of the departments and the distinctive features of the joint training programs, inviting more students to join and build a bridge for Sino-Russian educational cooperation.

    On the same day, as part of the Knowledge Science and Cultural Open Week, the Sino-Russian Comparative Education Research Center of SMBU and the Department of Education at Moscow State University held a master class titled Mind Games: Artificial Intelligence or Me? by Academician Гриншкун В.В.. Masterclass Academician Гриншкун В.В. delivered an insightful and engaging lecture, explaining the topics in a clear and accessible manner. He actively interacted with the audience, creating a lively atmosphere through a series of entertaining game activities.

    Additionally, experts from Moscow State University’s Department of Education hosted a series of outstanding lectures during the Open Week. These included Future Education: The Fusion of Tradition and Innovation, which analyzed the direction and paths of educational development; Possibilities and Prospects for Artificial Intelligence in Teacher Training, which explored cutting-edge trends in AI-powered education; and Effective Communication in Modern Educational Environments, which offered practical methods for enhancing educational communication effectiveness. The lectures were highly informative and practical, receiving widespread acclaim from the audience. They expanded participants’ educational perspectives and provided valuable professional insights.

    This series of events marked the debut appearance of the Sino-Russian Comparative Education Research Center of SMBU and the Department of Education at Moscow State University during the Knowledge Science and Cultural Festival. Through the book launch, Open Day, master class, and public lectures, the events vividly showcased the latest achievements in Sino-Russian educational cooperation, providing a high-quality platform for educational exchanges between the two countries and further deepening cooperation in educational philosophy, research innovation, and talent cultivation. These activities have injected new vitality into promoting Sino-Russian educational integration and social development.
